Why penguins mean business Monday February 9, 2009

What have penguins got to do with your business? In my last blog, I took a look at the benefits of creativity for businesses – copywriting and otherwise. Thanks to business and technical training people, Infero Training Nottingham, for telling me about the latest book from marketing maverick, Seth Godin.

Survival is not Enough highlights why businesses need to keep on evolving. With change the only real certainty in life, many companies put themselves out of the race by sticking with one model for success. Godin’s point is that because these companies don’t continually evolve like your average penguin, they get left behind. His view is that success now means making small, ongoing changes – taking us back to creativity and its place in helping businesses grow. Whether that’s a new approach to presenting a service or communicating with your customers in an innovative way. In the big freeze, it’s time to make like a penguin.
