Green Light Copywriting celebrates 22 years of copywriting services! 17 July 2025

Whoop whoop! Green Light Copywriting has reached the grand old age of 22! I’m no numerologist but if I were, I’d be pretty happy with the auspicious meaning of this year’s birthday. Apparently, 22 is the most powerful of all numbers and is often referred to as “the master builder”!

More than a milestone

That’s great, but what does a big business birthday like this actually mean? It’s certainly a milestone and a chance to look back. For me, a birthday of this kind is a reminder that longevity stems from the ability to adapt and evolve. This is certainly true for the world of content and copywriting. I’ve seen so much change in the past 22 years; not only in the sheer range of ways there are to communicate, but also in how businesses connect with their customers.

Moving on

For me, this business birthday is a reminder to look back at the wonderful clients I’ve been lucky enough to work with, as well as the projects I’ve been a part of bringing to fruition. But while looking back is informative and interesting, the ability to look forward is also important.

Because 22 years is more than a measure of time spent copywriting. It’s a sign of evolution, a symbol of the ability to adapt. But even more than that, it’s a reminder that time – and the world – keep moving on, and we need to keep up.

Choose the meaning

Numbers matter because of the meaning we give them. Which meaning do you choose? Whether your business is one month old or one hundred years old, success lies in the story we build and how we align that with the trends and shifts taking place in the world around us. It also depends on how we change in response to a changing world. Do we close down or cling on to the familiar ways of doing things, or do we adapt and move forward? I know which approach I prefer.

Looking forward

Rather than being the sum of its parts, a birthday is a reminder of the power of reinvention. Of looking afresh at content and seeing what can be done differently to create ideas that work with the way the world is now, not how it was. For me, a birthday is a signal to embrace the future, rather than harking back to the past. I think that’s certainly worth celebrating.
