Copy vs.Design 7 July 2009
The clipboard people are my favourite form of urban sport.
In order to avoid talking to those wistful souls bearing surveys, I have been known to duck and dive in a manner that recalls vintage Del Boy.
Right now I’m the one asking questions. I’ve been learning about what Green Light friends and contacts think about copywriting in a special survey. No clipboard. Just a few carefully selected questions.
Two of the most interesting figures are that 91.9% of people asked agree that copy is equal in importance to design. And 8.1% believe that copy is of more importance than design!
Perhaps this is no surprise with opinions drawn from businesses and other organisations that have an interest in copywriting services. But I still think this shows people recognise how their communications can benefit from both great design – and great content.
A message that sounds as good as it looks.
Lovely jubbly, as Del Boy would say.
