A critical marketing trend for 2026: AI vs authenticity
Make your copywriting more human: it’s a familiar refrain of mine. So it was no surprise to me to read that a new Brandwatch report suggests that “71% of marketers are concerned about AI eroding the ‘human touch’ in their strategies” in an article exploring marketing and content predictions for 2026.

Echoing what I have written before on trends in 2024 and on the importance of humanising business content and copywriting, the article wisely points out that:
“This fear stems from the proliferation of AI-generated content, which, while efficient, often lacks the authenticity that builds genuine consumer trust… As AI tools become ubiquitous, blending technological efficiency with heartfelt storytelling emerges as a critical strategy for maintaining consumer connections.”
Embrace content authenticity in 2026
Back in 2024, I wrote about research that suggested readers found AI content impersonal. Now that the volume of AI tools and content is even bigger, the issue is even more significant. Sounds like 2026 will be the year to make human, authentic and relatable the key watchwords of every copywriting strategy.
