Write later - ask questions first 5 August 2008
Copywriting isn’t a simple case of finding the right words or putting the apostrophe in the correct place…though you may already know I think that’s
important!
Every new project is about finding an answer to a problem. How does a business coach create an online marketing message that works across several sectors? How can a person who develops bespoke IT software communicate the impact their work has on business profitability? Behind every new copywriting project is at least one big question:
1) How can I define what you do so everybody gets it?
or
2) What do you want to tell your customers?
or
3) How does your service improve life for people?
But they’re all satellites to the ultimate client question at the start of every project – “Who are you and what are you about?”.
