Spotting the language of spam 10 March 2010

Here’s an interesting visual take on the creepy side of copy. It’s a series of images of the words that make up spam. I’ve written before about how poor spelling and dubious punctuation in copy can give away bad intentions. Here you can literally see the patterns of dodgy persuasion in the changing choice of words. The spammers may craftily update their message according to recent events and attempt to include politer language, but the clues are still there in the copy.
